Logistically this was the biggest job that Pro Guarding has been involved in. Not only were we called upon for our Water Safety and Paramedical services but we were heavily involved in scouting for locations with the help of local abalone divers that we had used on previous jobs. Using GPS and depth sounding equipment to locate a reef to anchor the submerged sailing boat to was very challenging due to the extreme weather and surf conditions. Once we had the location locked down and managed, it was Pro Guarding’s job to keep in close contact with the production company by providing up to date weather and surf forecasting reports leading in to the shoot. This unique job also required us to work very closely with emergency services including local Marine Rescue as well as the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
