Specialised crew water safety training for the superyacht industry
Pro Guarding’s superyacht training program provides comprehensive water safety training, individualised programs and specialised water safety system facilitation for crew within the super yacht industry.
Our training addresses the water environment and the hazards associated with its recreational use through developing a hazard assessment method for crew to; identify safe and unsafe aquatic environments, develop an ability to assess the capability of guests in the water and gain the knowledge to consider specific risks associated with various types of water recreation.
About the program
Together we will assess and evaluate pre-existing water safety management plans for your yacht or assist you in the development of one. This is an important tool in delegating roles & responsibilities amongst the crew while guests are recreating in the water. We will discuss the key aspects and outline areas of importance for continual assessment into the future.
With our elite and experienced level of individualised training and water safety education, we aim to facilitate best practice water safety amongst your crew to ensure the safety and care of all onboard.
Training outcomes
Using yacht specific resources and equipment, as well as real-life exclusive Bondi Rescue lifeguard footage, crew will be instructed in a captivating hands-on workshop.
Our scenario-based learning approach teaches crew to:
• Identify and recognise risk
• Recognise a swimmer in distress and the practical facilitation of water-based rescue
techniques
• Retrieval methods for both conscious & unconscious patients
• Spinal injury management
The rescue aids we use are yacht specific and can include flotation devices, vessel tender and personal water craft rescues.
With the development of water rescue skills, the crew will be trained in medical competency and will have the opportunity to complete Australian standard first aid, advanced resuscitation and spinal care certificates.
